Ladies man

Evan just burst into the house in tears because this little girl (a neighborhood/church friend) is chasing him around outside trying to kiss him. I had to console him then once again ask Faith to please stop trying to kiss Evan. She said, "I won't kiss him anymore. I just wanna hug him." Poor Evan.

Glenwood Springs

Ice skating at Roosevelt Park

It was a great day for outdoor iceskating. Not too cold. Half of Longmont was there. At least the 9-14 half. They had walkers for the kids which was a life saver for Evan and me.  Its not pretty when he hangs on to me and we skate together.

Olivia for Historian!

Hi all,
I had to announce Olivia's big news.  She's running for school historian.  And today she gave a speech over the intercom to the whole school.  Mr. Wahler (the principal) came up to me and said how proud he was of her for running and giving a speech to the whole school.  I'm hoping she wins, she's really put her best efforts into her poster and speech and she's been so excited about it.  But mostly I'm proud of her for making this huge step and doing something way out of her comfort zone.
Keep your fingers crossed:)

Little boy things and other musings

Evan and I are waiting for Emi while she has her first drama club meeting at Westview. Good thing he brought his bag of important stuff: rock collection in a sandwich bag, handcuffs, tape measure,  twistup gun with round plastic objectile (happy meal toy), and skull&bones food poker (from a Halloween cupcake).
...............
Today was cold and rather dreary. I think we'll have split pea soup for dinner.
...............
Stake conference was yesterday and the speakers were excellent.  Our stake president spoke on forgiveness and told a personal story of someone he forgave that had wronged him. He told about how his feelings of anger toward the man melted away once he decided to forgive him.  I like those kind of stories,  of people choosing the higher ground especially when its really hard.  I hope I can be that kind of person.  I'm gratefull the Gospel teaches us to be better, to do good, and to see past this world and the ways of this world.
