We're painting tonight

Taylor's uncle Randy and cousin Luke came out and they drove to Utah to hike through the San Rafael slot canyon. They're back now. I got this rhubarb to make strawberry rhubarb crisp and I couldn't resist painting it first. And whenever I get my paints out the kids want to paint too.

Watch "Evan's Cooking Show: "Chunky Granola" Produced by Olivia" on YouTube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf9aXiazt9Q&feature=youtube_gdata_player
This is about the cutest thing ever. Evan's own cooking show.  He wants to be a chef when he grows up. He's already my favorite chef;)

A clean house and good smells

I've been cleaning for the last few hours and now my house is (mostly) clean and I have a pork roast in the crockpot and it smells devine. This is a good feeling.

Volleyball today

Olivia and Emi had their games today. Taylor took Emi this morning at 8 and Evan was still sleeping so I didn't make it but they won 3 games in a row. Olivia got 8 serves and 7 of them were points.

Olivia and her best friend Emma on twins day

I thought this picture was so cute that my friend just sent from twins day today.  Despite the size difference these two are the best of friends.

Happy Friday

Evan put this wig on and wanted everyone to see. So here you go. Happy Friday.

Discovery Days at the Longmont museum

This is our Friday morning routine. Taylor goes to play volleyball at 6:45 at the rec center. Evan and I drop the girls off at school then come watch Taylor for a few minutes.  Then we go across the parking lot to the Longmont museum to discovery days. Evan loves doing all the fun projects.

Back from vacation, I love the Gospel

I wish I could take a break without having to come back to chaos. Monday morning was chaotic. But now it's Wednesday and I think I got most things under control. We had a good time in Moab. It was warm and we got some sun. I love the landscape there. It makes me want to paint again...which I haven't done in a while.

We also got to listen to General Conference this weekend, which was inspiring as usual. I'm so glad we have a living prophet and apostles that speak to us today. When I listen to them I know they're called of God and that this is His church, as He organized it when He was on the earth. I'm not sure what my life would be like without the Gospel but I know it would not be as near as good as it is. I'm not perfect BUT I am very happy and I have a very happy family and I attribute it all to the Gospel. The Gospel doesn't immune us from struggles- trust me, we've had them. But it does provide a perspective and peace that we otherwise would not have. It teaches us there is life after death, that families can be sealed together forever, that we are meant to be happy, that God loves all his children and wants us to return to Him, and that we all can return by obediance and through the Atonement. I am so grateful for this knowledge.

Me and Mike

Okay, this is a is a cardboard Mike but still cute.  Not to worry Taylor,  he doesn't compare to you. And why am I looking at his shoulder? I don't know.

Jeeping in Moab

That was intense. Good thing we met some friends to go up with. The trail we took was called "fins and things". It's rated 3.5 out of 4. There's spots where you're going up so steep all you can see is the sky. The kids had fun. Then we went to Milt's for milkshakes and burgers. Now I'm relaxing by the pool while Evan and Olivia swim. We're staying at the super8 which is super cheap but not super great. We had other plans but then Taylor's parents and Kristi + kids decided to join us and couldn't get cabins where we booked so I changed our plans to stay in the same place as them so we'd all be together. Note to self: never do super8 again. Okay, enough complaining. Other than the seedy hotel it's a fun vacation.
